If you’re pressed for time, however, the long and the short of it is that the theory doesn’t hold water, the fire wasn’t really that big, there was no conspiracy, things pointed out as being abnormal and conspiratorial were really just normal or explicable, corners weren’t cut, the bulkhead probably didn’t give way, the black mark in the photo is nowhere near the fire area, and isn’t even on the ship, but a reflection on the hull, and in all likelihood the fire actually helped to save people when the ship was sinking. We discuss the claims of conspiracy and secrecy, cost-cutting, the extent of the fire, the supposed photographic evidence, and other revelations. In this recorded livestream, we go over the points and “evidence” presented in the documentary ‘Titanic: The New Evidence’. Have you heard that new theory about the sinking of the Titanic going around? If you haven’t, you’re one of the fortunate few. If you have not yet seen it, take a look! The animation was created for the 100th anniversary of the sinking. There are also narrations by a number of people actors bring survivor accounts to life, and our historical consultants, including Parks Stephenson and Ken Marschall, provide commentary. You’ll see the progress of the sinking in real time, the launching of the lifeboats, what happened to the doomed lifeboats, and much more. It starts with a few minutes of peaceful sailing, then the sinking starts with the mine explosion. Like our real-time Titanic sinking animation, this video reconstructs the sinking of Britannic from beginning to end. Britannic sank in shallow water in the Kea Channel, just a few miles from the Greek island of Kea. Unfortunately two lifeboats were caught in the suction of the massive port propeller, which was still turning above the water, and torn to pieces along with their occupants. Despite the speed of the sinking, nearly everyone made it off in lifeboats. Open portholes and forward movement further sped up the sinking. The explosion send shocks through the ship, disabling watertight doors. We all know about the sinking of the Titanic, but what about Britannic, her lesser-known sister ship?īritannic, which was meant to be a near-identical sister ship to Titanic and serve the transatlantic route, but was pressed into service in WWI as a hospital ship, sank on November 21st, 1916 after striking an underwater mine.
